International Master of Montessori Degree Program

Department Introduction

The dual master degree program offers students who wish to obtain M.S. in Infant and Child Care, and M. Ed in Early Childhood Education with Montessori teacher certification. The M.S. degree is offered by National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences (NTUNHS) and M.Ed. degree is offered by United States of America. This program is designed for students with a bachelor’s degree. Students take courses leading to Montessori Teacher certification while simultaneously working on two master degrees. Upon completion of the Montessori courses, they will need 33 credits to complete the master’s program. The program plan contains concentration in Montessori methods and supportive coursework in other fields, research, and evaluation of young children.

 Eligibility for Admission

  1. Have a bachelor’s degree or associate degree in fields related to nursing or  midwifery from foreign universities and colleges approved by R.O.C. (Taiwan) Ministry of Education, with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or its equivalent.
  2. A course-by-course evaluation from any NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) approved foreign transcript evaluation company.
  3. Foregin students should carefully read the MOE Regulations "Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan " for application eligibility.

 English Language Proficiency

Applicants from countries where English is not the native language, or those who have completed their bachelor’s degree at a non-English speaking academic institution, are required to have evidence of English proficiency equivalent to TOFEL iBT test score of 79, or IELTS 6.5 or higher, or a PTE score of at least 53.
