International Master of Montessori Degree Program

Department Introduction

The dual master degree program offers students who wish to obtain M.S. in Infant and Child Care, and M. Ed in Early Childhood Education with Montessori teacher certification. The M.S. degree is offered by National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences (NTUNHS) and M.Ed. degree is offered by United States of America. This program is designed for students with a bachelor’s degree. Students take courses leading to Montessori Teacher certification while simultaneously working on two master degrees. Upon completion of the Montessori courses, they will need 33 credits to complete the master’s program. The program plan contains concentration in Montessori methods and supportive coursework in other fields, research, and evaluation of young children.

 Eligibility for Admission

  1. Have a bachelor’s degree from a university or college approved by the Ministry of Education, Republic of China (Taiwan), with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or its equivalent.
  2. A course-by-course evaluation from any NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) approved foreign transcript evaluation company.

 English Language Proficiency

Applicants whose native language is not English MUST meet one of the following English proficiency requirements: a TOFEL score of at least 79 (IBT), or an IELTS score of at least 6.5, a PTE score of at least 53*or CEFR B2 vantage or above.

*If applicants have obtained a Bachelor or Master degree from an English-speaking country, which is recognized by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, you may waive the English proficiency test and transcript evaluation.
